Inside Nick and Mariah's twins' luxurious lives

Being Mariah's kids has its perks! On October 21, Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon debuted their gorgeous twins to the world on 20/20. Now, Life & Style brings you inside Moroccan and Monroe's (nicknamed Rob and Roe) luxurious NYC nursery filled with Roberto Cavalli designed matching outfits, plush stuffed animals and AFK cribs worth $3,594 a piece!

"I wanted to create a beautiful, tranquil, cozy environment," Mariah tells Life & Style of their two beautiful nurseries in their Bel Air Mansion and Tribeca penthouse in NYC. "Designing the nurseries with Gail Sedigh of AFK Furniture and Mario Buatta was so challenging because I had such specific ideas I wanted implemented," she tells Life & Style. "I feel like I'm bringing two individuals into the world, so I wanted to do more than cookie-cutter styles in blue and pink."

So the singer made sure to encompass everything she desired. But no gift is greater than being a mom. "I feel so doubly blessed to have such a perfect start to our family," Mariah gushed. "It's perfect - it couldn't be better."

Mariah Carey teases new Christmas tune

Today on Twitter, Mariah Carey roused up her 5 million followers by insinuating that she's got a Christmas gift to the fans on the way. No, it's not dem babies - and she says it's not what we're thinking of, either, so that probably rules out the leaked "All I Want for Christmas Is You" duet with Justin Bieber.

"Listening to a very festive suprise (not what you're thinking) but ooo lovers of music, especially Christmas." So what does Mariah have up her sleeve, exactly? We can't wait to find out!

Justin Bieber's Mariah Christmas collabo hits the net

Hey Beliebers, you can celebrate the holidays early this year! Just days before he officially releases Under the Mistletoe, Justin Bieber is gifting fans with the early release of two high-profile duets off the November 1 album.

First off, his highly anticipated Mariah Carey collabo, an updated mix of her Christmas classic "All I Want for Christmas", made its way online. The song, posted on Rap-Up.com, opens with Bieber and Carey exchanging vocal runs. Mariah's verse, which sounds very much like the original, goes first. Then Bieber, singing in a deeper register than usual, joins in for the second verse.

The sound of Carey's original track is pretty much all there, with Bieber adding some new shine on the always-glittering holiday standard. "Mariah Carey is doing it with me! It's incredible. So excited," he told MTV News recently. "We wanted Mariah from the beginning, but we kind of thought it was really hard, so we didn't really push the idea. But she's on my label, so we reached out to some people, she got in contact with us, and Randy Jackson was actually at the studio with us, and I was like, 'Yo, you think you can help get Mariah on the Christmas album?' And he was like, 'I'm actually going to see her in New York on Monday,' and I was like 'Yo, go do that!' "

On Bieber's collaboration with Busta Rhymes on the classic "Little Drummer Boy", which was posted on Hitfix.com, the boys threw some club beats and synths over the old-school Christmas track. The song gets a bit of an edge when Bieber, a skilled drummer himself, appears as his rapper alter ego Shawty Mane.

He raps lines like "Yeah, I'm on the drum. I'm on the snare drum. Yeah, I'm on the beat. 'Cause the beat goes dum. I only spare heat 'cause I'm playing for the son. Playing for king. Playing for the title. I'm surprised you didn't hear it in the Bible," while also singing the traditional lyrics from the song in between verses.

Busta comes in halfway through the song, spitting family-friendly lines in his signature rapid-fire style. "Bieber hit me back and said let's make it hot up in the winter," he raps. "I said, cool. You know I'm gonna deliver. Let's collaborate and make the holiday a little bigger."

"If you really think about it, it's genius, because it's rapping on a Christmas album... and, like, I'm rapping on it. And then it's singing," he explained. "It's cool. Busta's got, like, a percussive voice to him and the beat was so crazy. I'm actually playing drums on that song, playing the snare."

The album will also include appearances by Usher, Boyz II Men and the Band Perry, as well as a number of songs featuring Bieber all on his own, including the album's lead single, "Mistletoe".

Mariah Carey Enlists Big Jim Wright & Randy Jackson For New Album

Now that Mariah Carey has debuted her twins to the world and discussed all of the intimate details of her tumultuous pregnancy, she has become completely focused on her next studio album. In fact, the diva has summoned several industry heavyweights to the studio, including producers James "Big Jim" Wright and Randy Jackson.

However, this wasn't the first time that Carey has worked with Wright or Jackson. She previously collaborated with the former on several tracks from her critically lauded The Emancipation of Mimi album, such as "Fly Like a Bird" and "I Wish You Knew.". Additionally, Jackson has been a member of Carey’s band since her debut and crafted most of her Merry Christmas II You alongside Wright and Marc Shaiman.

Other named contributors to Carey's new project thus far include Jermaine Dupri and Da Brat. The latter confirmed that she wrote new material for record earlier this month. Whether the LP will be released via one of the Epic Label Group’s labels, as hinted by LA Reid, has yet to be confirmed.

See what Wright said about his recent studio session with Carey below:

Trying to sleep but can’t grrrrr Was in the studios late with @YO_RANDYJACKSON working on some @MariahCarey tracks.

Carey is certainly doing her best to ensure that her new album is the hit that she needs at this stage in her career. The named collaborators have masterminded some of her most praised material and have exhibited a unique understanding of her voice.

However, it would also be a thrilling occurrence if James Poyser – the producer of Carey’s "Mine Again" from The Emancipation – and Marc Shaiman became involved in the project. Of course, Carey’s former writing partners Walter Afanasieff and Ben Margulies would also be welcome additions to the album.

Indeed, Nick Cannon confirmed that Carey is seeking inspiration from her debut album and the Emotions LP. Hence, working with Afanasieff and Margulies, who were the main contributors to those records, would be an excellent way for her to channel that artistic energy. Still, Wright and Jackson's inclusions are enough to stimulate excitement!

Track Flashback: Crybaby

Mariah Carey Working With Jim Wright and Randy Jackson on New Album

With the twins out the belly, Mariah Carey is now ready to hit the booth and put all effort towards an upcoming album. It has been confirmed that Mimi’s anticipated album will featured producers James “Big Jim” Wright and American Idol judge, Randy Jackson. Both producers have showed and proved on Mariah’s previous album The Emancipation of Mimi and Merry Christmas II.

Knowing that the post-pregnancy album is under the hot radar, Big Jim seems to be putting in a lot of work. Yesterday morning he took to Twitter to release some stress he seems to be enduring the process of putting together the album.

“Trying to sleep but can’t grrrrr.,” tweeted Wright. “Was in the studios late with Randy Jackson working on some Mariah Carey tracks.”

Mariah is also said to be hooking up with long-time collaborator Jermaine Dupri, which hopefully brings nostalgic ’90s jams to our ears. Speculation also danced around about Mariah dropping a gangsta joint with Uncle Murda, but it’s now cleared that she will be featured on one of his tracks instead of being the actually track holder.

Rollin’ with Nick Cannon: Trust In a Relationship?

With Nick and Mariah Carey's big revelation on 20/20 on Friday night, there’s been a lot of talk about what Mariah said about the amount of trust she has for Nick – which I didn’t take to be that serious because that’s how a lot of wives and girlfriends are with their significant others. It’s a cheeky, snarky way to be endearing without seeming so mushy.

According to Sarah Lee, who watched the segment an unprecedented SEVEN times, there was tension and beef because of what Mariah asking Nick if she could trust him which is an odd question for a wife to ask a husband so I guess Sarah was rubbed the wrong way about that one!

Either way, at the end of the day, the battle continues on whether or not the twins are going to college or to super stardom or even both! We’ll just have to sit tight and wait!

Here’s how it all went down on the show!

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon share family photos posted

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon introduced their babies, Moroccan and Monroe, during an interview with Barbara Walters last night (October 21). And now that the babies have been revealed, the doting parents have released personal family photos on their brand new website.
Mariah and Nick wrote a special message on the website: "We deliberated for so long about how to reveal the first pictures of our babies to the world. We just didn't want to do the typical thing and display them in a tabloid (not that there's anything wrong with that). We decided to share this beautiful experience with you in a special intimate portrait of our family. Parenthood is absolutely the most life changing experience we could ever have imagined. The love we feel for these babies is above and beyond anything we'd ever dreamed of."

Mariah Carey lifts ABC, "20/20"

CBS easily had the most viewers Friday night, but ABC could cheer. The Disney-owned network tied CBS in the 18-to-49 age group, and long-running "20/20" had the biggest audience of young adults for the night. What brought in those young adults? Chris Cuomo's interview with Bernie Madoff's daughter-in-law, Stephanie Madoff Mack, and Barbara Walters' chat with Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon about their difficulties in having a child. Cannon is host of "America's Got Talent" on NBC.
CBS had the most viewers in each time slot, and freshman drama "A Gifted Man" gained a million viewers during its hour, a good sign. Here's how the CBS lineup fared: "A Gifted Man" with 8.6 million viewers, "CSI: NY" with 10.7 million and "Blue Bloods" with 10.8 million.
ABC finished second in each time slot with "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (5.1 million), a second "Extreme Makeover" (6 million) and "20/20" (with 7.6 million viewers). Here are the prime-time averages: CBS with 10 million, ABC with 6.2 million, NBC with 3.3 million, Fox with 2.6 million and The CW with 1.8 million.
Fox offered a new "Kitchen Nightmares" (3.5 million) and a "Fringe" rerun (1.7 million). NBC's standout was a two-hour "Dateline" with 4 million. The CW offered fresh installments of "Nikita" (1.7 million) and "Supernatural" (1.8 million). In Orlando, the top shows were "CSI: NY" (184,800 viewers), "Blue Bloods" (142,400), "A Gifted Man" (140,500), "20/20" (with 114,400) and the 8 p.m. edition of "Extreme Makeover" (101,400).

Mariah Carey's Twins Get their Own Web Site: Dembabies.com!

According to Nick Cannon, there has been so much interest in ‘dem babies he had with singing sensation Mariah Carey, that after their big reveal tonight on 20/20 with Barbara Walters, he and his wife will be launching Dembabies.com!

Mariah Carey Shows Off her Cribs!

Nick announced this morning during his radio show Rollin’ with Nick Cannon (after Mariah tweeted) that dembabies.com will be a site dedicated to photos of the babies, Morocco and Monroe—taken by Nick—that celebrates their family, including Mariah’s pregnancy. Rather than sell the photos to the highest bidder, Nick and Mariah have decided let the public see into their families private life for free.

POLL: Should Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Sell Twins Baby Pictures?

Mariah Tweeted “BREAKING NEWS: Get all the information on dembabies site from me!!! Very soon-we will have REAL updates. Barbra W. FIRST! L4L-LYM.” She then added, “Our site is exclusively family moments which you will see later, afterwards-but we're keeping you posted so stay w/us! Big Kiss!"

Cannon said that the idea for the site was Mariah’s. What do you think? Will you visit dembabies.com?

Mariah teases "Epic" label move

Commercially, the last few years have seen songbird Mariah Carey's wings clipped. The diva's newer releases has struggled to match the success of 2005's triumphant chart comeback "The Emancipation of Mimi", with her most recent effort "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" tanking quite terribly in 2009.
However, it appears the new mother is ready to breathe new life into her career with a potential label move. Our good friends over at Mariah Daily spotted the following exchange between the Island star and former boss LA Reid, who now heads up Epic over at rival label Sony:
Mariah Carey: "Five million followers and we haven't even scratched the surface of what's about to happen. Epic surprise coming up!" LA Reid: "Mariah Carey. Epic surprise? Nice wording Mimi! Missing you."
Could the "We Belong Together" singer be singing a similar tune to her one-time right hand man? We wouldn't be surprised. After all, who wouldn't want to reunite with the force who brought you back from the brink of irrelevancy. The force who, for a period in time, made you bigger than you were before?
Saying that, any one who knows Industry 101, would know it isn't simply a case of clicking fingers and switching labels. Indeed, it's common knowledge ol' Mimi owed one more original album to Island. Hence, for any such Epic move to occur, LA and his new team would essentially have to "buy-out" the remainder of Mariah's contract (which, despite her lack of success in recent memory, would be quite costly).
An interesting point in that if successful, it arguably says something about Island's belief (or lack-thereof) in Mariah's palatability to the current music market. I mean, LA is largely the entity behind Rihanna's success, yet you don't see Ms. Fenty jumping ship. Why? Because Def Jam wouldn't dream of letting Ms. Fenty go. Not at this point of her career. No. Struggle as she may to sell actual albums, that little model brings in the $$$ for the label in the form of her 360 deal (see: endorsements). Put simply, if Mimi is in the midst of an Epic move, it suggests Island may not see her commercial worth on their roster anymore.
Wherever Mimi pops up next, she simply needs to ensure she brings "it". Because, on the basis of her name alone, she's always received top billing at what ever label she calls home. It's oft her material that's let her down with the projects that tanked (see: "Charmbracelet", "Glitter", "Memoirs"). It'll be interesting to see how this one plays out.

No Post-Birth Beer for Mariah Carey

Mariah says that she did not drink a beer after giving birth to her twins.

After giving birth to not just one baby but two, you might excuse a new mom for wanting a drink... but singer Mariah Carey is quashing earlier reports that she had a beer after her twins Moroccan and Monroe were born last spring at a Los Angeles hospital.

The beer allegation prompted the involvement of California Child Protective Services, who, Carey said, investigated whether the babies were subject to "neglect."

"It just doesn't make any sense," Carey told Barbara Walters in an exclusive interview airing on "20/20″ Friday.

Carey said that, at the time, the newborns — who are now six months old — were being cared for in the hospital's neo-natal intensive care unit.

"The babies were in the most protective environment because it's the NICU," she said.

Carey said the beer story started with a suggestion by a nurse who brought the singer a beer, saying it would help improve lactation.

But, Carey said, "I didn't even drink the beer."

Justin Bieber confirms colaboration with Mariah Carey

Canadian pop/R&B singer, Justin Bieber, confirmed today that he has worked on a track with Mariah Carey for his forthcoming Christmas album, Under The Mistletoe. This ends the endless speculation floating around all week that both stars had been in the studio recording.

Mariah Carey will be joining Usher, Boyz II Men and The Band Perry on Bieber’s latest project. It is yet unknown whether Mariah Carey & Justin Bieber’s duet will be a brand new track or a cover. We personally believe it will be the latter of the two.
